"Kindred" August Book Club and Stitch A Long

August 2025

I’m running a Book Club and Make Along and everyone is invited!

  • WHO: Anyone who likes to read and do fiber craft

  • WHAT: This month we are reading "Kindred: the Graphic Novel Adaption" by Octavia Butler. We will read it over the month of August. When we do book discussions online we can also use this time to relax and stitch together. I will post a PDF below with discussion questions and some connected videos/readings/media.

  • WHEN: We will have two online book discussions. One for the halfway point (p.100) and one for the end of the book. Those will take place at 11am on August 16th and 3pm on August 30th.

  • WHERE: We'll meet online using Google Meet. The link is below and you simply need to click it on the date/time of the Discussion/Sit n' Stitch.

  • WHY: I'd like to start building some community and connecting people who share interests. I feel like I could try to explain more but it really is that simple. I want to sit and stitch with people and talk about interesting books. I have a few books lined up through the fall, so stay tuned for more on that (Hint for the next book: hot dogs). Let's read some cool stuff and get to know one another!

The Virtual Sit and Stitch will be on and you can click the link below to join!:

  • Aug 17th @ 11am EDT
  • Aug 30th @ 3pm EDT

Headache Heroes of Crafting

An Online Meet Up

As someone who suffers from a rare headache disorder, one of the things that has been very difficult is finding the right space to feel comfortable talking about the impact of headaches on my life. On the flip side of that coin, one of the things that has brought me great relief during my times of headache pain is fiber craft.  I decided I wanted to make a space for headache suffers who are crafters to virtually come together and work on projects and just talk life, headaches, crafting, and being chronically ill and chill.

Next Meet Up: TBD
